I would imagine that there isn't a baby that has escaped the curse of a diaper rash. They can be very painful and upsetting both for baby and Mom or Dad. So what you need is an effective diaper rash treatment that can make the existing rash disappear as quickly as possible as well as prevent future flare ups.

Check your baby's back part and look for symptoms of diaper rashes. Rashes are usually accompanied by redness, swelling, and even tiny wounds in the skin. If these signs are present, then your baby definitely has diaper rashes.

What are causes of Diaper Rash? All babies will usually get diaper rash at one point or another. If your baby has diaper rash, it is not a sign of neglect on your part. Diaper rash is a normal thing that occurs during the time in which babies wear diapers.

Curing diaper rash is a journey every new parent will take. It is normal that your child has diaper rash at some point in time and no parent is so perfect that you will escape the experience. Don't freak out. You are not alone.

Try first to treat this condition by changing the diapers frequently especially poopy diapers. Avoid using alcohol and scented wipes as to clean your baby. It is better to use unscented ones or just plain warm water. Pat dry and do not scrub.

Make sure the whole area is dry before you put on the next diaper. You can use a clean, dry cloth to blot, blow with your breath or fan with an unused diaper paying close attention to the cracks and folds. It usually isn't necessary to use a powder with today's disposable diapers.

Letting a baby run around for a short amount of time without a diapers is a great way to help get rid of it. Doing this allows your babies bottom to stay dry. The diaper locks in the moisture so removing the diaper and letting your baby run around provides proper air circulation and is a nice way to stop a rash.

Oatmeal is one of the popular natural treatment for diaper rash. This is a commonly used home remedy for many skin problems. You can add oatmeal to your child's warm bath water. Let your baby soak in this water for 15-20 minutes. Keep the water moving with your hands.

Here's a unique one that you may want to try. Roast enough flour in a frying pan that can last a few applications. Heat the flour till it turns light golden brown. Apply a light dusting of this flour on the rash at each diaper change.

If your baby has been susceptible to diaper rash, use a towel moistened with just clean cool water to clean the sensitive areas, pat dry with a clean soft towel and treat area with 100% pure petroleum jelly or Desitin(R) before putting on a new diaper.

Soak the baby's bottom with running water occasionally in between of diaper changes; or by squirting with a water bottle. If possible, only use warm water with (or without) mild soap.

Put on the diaper loosely to prevent chafing, or use a bigger-sized diaper will be leaving more rooms for better air circulation. Make sure the diaper or nappy fits firmly, instead of tightly.

With some diligence and perseverance in following those best practises, diaper rash should be healed within 3 to 4 days without seeking an out-patient consultation.
